The whales will be somewhere south of here in the cold, eating a year's worth of krill under the never-setting sun.
They're not back until winter, but we will sing to them our electronic whale-song.
On the first weekend clear of the school holidays, Yonderia washes back up at Cave Beach. Pack the sequinned wetsuit. Practise dancing in the bejewelled flippers. We are going back into the belly of the whale.
what is yonderia
Yonderia is an ever-changing land. No: a state of mind. A figment of our joint imagination. It is a habitat of radical ideas, self-expression and inclusion, a place for beings of all genders, abilities and musical tribes; although sadly not pets. Consent and respect are essential.
Yonderia is the collaborative vision of all those who participate. Everyone is encouraged to bring a contribution to share: material, energetic, idyllic or otherwise. Contributions are as varied as they are delightful. Perhaps a game, a meal, a song, a friend, some dress-ups to share, energy for conversation, or for the dance floor.

Cave Beach campsite, Booderee National Park, on the lands of the Yuin people, where sovereignty was never ceded. Booderee is co-managed with the Wreck Bay Aboriginal Community, and your park pass purchased on your way in supports this.
- The walk in. The campsite is 300 m from the carpark and everything has to be carried. Bring muscles or a wheelbarrow.
- The beach. A short walk from the campsite, down stairs.
- Facilities. Toilets, cold showers, fresh water, a sheltered gas barbecue area and wood barbecues.
- Fires. Only in the fire pits provided. No open fires, no digging, pegs only.
- Sites. Each marked site is 5 m × 5 m and tents have to be under 3 m × 4.5 m. Check your tent before you pack it.
- Access. The site is not very mobility friendly. Get in touch if that's an issue for you and we'll work something out.
Park pass. Separate from your ticket, paid to the park. $20 per vehicle per day, $10 concession, or $80 for a year. Buy it online or at the entry station. prices checked Aug 2026 — confirm before you drive down
Extra nights. We hold the campsite for Saturday night only. Friday and Sunday are yours to book direct with Parks Australia. If your group is driving out on Sunday, sort your designated driver before Saturday, not on Sunday morning.
We'll keep things loud enough on the dancefloor, quiet enough for the neighbours and animals.

- Everything used is owned by Yonderians. Tickets help us to pretend that this expensive hobby will one day break even. Funds also cover expenses like fuel and repairs when they come up.
